'Tears of Lucidity' is the motto for the sixth edition of the International Symposium on Contemporary Art – City of The Guard (SIAC) that takes place for the sixth time in the highest city and for the first time in the fall. SIAC #6 will take place between 3 and 13 November 2022, crossing, as usual, various artistic languages such as painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture, digital art or literature, spreading through various places in the city: From the Museum to the Associative Quarter (Largo do Torreão), from the City Streets to the chapel of the Solar dos Póvoas.
This time, the Municipality of Guarda, through its Museum, wanted to bring the SIAC closer to the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of José Saramago, author of the novel 'Essay on Lucidity', whose title inspired the basic theme of this symposium.
Also noted for the Artistic Residences of painting, engraving, sculpture and installation, which in this autumnal edition will take place in the Museum and whose works will later be on display in the Associative Quarter. Artists from Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Guinea-Bissau, the Netherlands, China and Poland participate in the Artistic Residencies.
